Event Name:The Book of Life – Grief & Resilience
Description:Nationally known authority on spirituality, health and loss Harold G. Koenig, M.D., will lead “The Book of Life,” a unique all-day training conference to equip area faith leaders and medical providers in offering end-of-life care, scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at the UTC University Center.

OBJECTIVES:
  • Deduce the relationship between religion and coping with stress and loss.
  • Analyze research the relationship between religion, spirituality, resilience, mental health, and physical health
  • Associate how religious involvement might impact mental health over the lifespan, as individuals cope with stress and loss.
  • Understand how spiritual care and end of life care interact and be able to integrate these domains into practice.
  • Establish the role of end of life care as a continuum of healthcare, and not a failure of healthcare.
  • Apply coping tools to increase resilience of professionals, patients, and family by decreasing career exhaustion and avoiding burn-out.
